Aidan knows maths can help him get to where he wants to be

Aidan’s Story

Aidan took part in a course at Glenburn Community Garden, Paisley, where young people have been learning about maths in a practical way and then applying their new-found skills to do jobs around the garden.

Aidan tell us:

“I would really like to work in construction. In the future, I see myself owning my own construction company. Working with wood and with cement, learning about angles and calculating percentages – it all helps!

You need maths every day when you think about it… The maths I learn here is helping me to get to where I think I should be in life. The course is practical, it’s more hands-on. It’s more effective for getting maths across to people.”
